Scottish Government Pledges £3.5 Million Towards End of Life Care

Last week the Scottish Government launched the Strategic Framework for Action on Palliative Care. This announcement follows pressure from charities and public health organisations to improve the end of life care that is provided to patients. A spokesperson from the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland (CHAS) said that high quality end of life care should be a “right for everyone in Scotland.”

Marriage can aid cancer survival

A recent piece of research from Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women's Hospital has found that married people who receive a cancer diagnosis live longer than patients who are not married. Married patients are also more likely to have their cancer diagnosed at an earlier stage, which can increase the success of any treatment.
